"Karma On A Shitty Night"

Trusting you hit harder than karma on a shitty night,
But I was the dumb fuck sitting in the spotlight.
Every move choreographed for this Broadway show,
Was another joke on me that I would never know.
The elaborate costumes made you out to be my friend,
And the way you said “I love you” made it just another trend.
You look me in the eyes as if almost to proclaim,
The reason why you're laughing is that you forgot my name.
I don't know what's worse, the fact that you don't care,
Or the degrading little way you look at me and stare.
Next time you try to sell me any kind of lie,
I'm locking the door without a single goodbye.

"The End"

Distance crept between us
Cutting into old wounds
Friendship has fallen victim
To the hope time consumes

A year's worth of hatred
Caused by your absence,
Neglect, and carelessness
Accompanied by dissonance

Your oblivion is an enigma
Perplexing confusion itself
Abandoning questions
On which I'm left to dwell

Before I was confident
To know I had a friend
Now I'm sitting on promises
Alone at the end.

"I Call Life"

Agony runs ramped down my spine.
Regret eats away at my heart,
And loneliness is pleasantly poisonous.
Hysteria traps me outside my own thoughts.
Obliquely centering me with coherence
That inflicts shame and discontent.
Yet people ignorantly try overwhelming me
with positive falsehoods to give themselves hope.
My hope does not lie within the deception of others,
But within the desire to wake up from this nightmare
I call life.

"Joga Bonita"

Life fails in comparison to this joy.
In fact, nothing can equate.
The sensation of taking to the field
Is empowering and liberating.
There is no existence beyond the pitch.
Reality falls prey to fantasy,
And the primary focus is winning.
Twenty-two players, two teams,
Two goals, one objective.
Right, left, and center fielders set.
The ref signals, the battle begins.
It's halftime, we're down one goal.
The only thing to do is tie it up.
If time runs out we go into overtime,
No big deal. But if we don't score...
Well, let's not worry about that right now.
Forty-five minutes to go.
Everyone man-on and play tough.
This is a fight to the finish,
Dig deep and bring this one home to papa.
Last game of the season,
Let's play like it's the last of a lifetime.
Score's tied. One chance to win this.
The adrenaline is intoxicating.
“Alright, he'll have to do it alone.
He's there. Ah!!!
Sensational goal from Thierry Henry.”
Arsenal F.C. has won the game!
Fans are cheering in hysteria.
I sit looking at the screen,
Content with the outcome.
We did it boys: “Joga bonita.”

"Hello Stranger"

Hello stranger
A close friend of mine
It’s been a while
Since I’ve seen you last

Hello friend
A mere stranger outside
I’ve been calling for days
But you don’t reply

Hello stranger
My best friend for life
We’re just two out of billions
Connecting disconnected lives

Hello friend
A lonely stranger inside
I loved you for hours
Until I became bored

Goodbye stranger
A distant friend of mine
Welcome to my world
Of Confusion and sorrow

Goodbye friend
Ignorant stranger, goodbye
I’ll always remember
That you said “Hello”.

"Hamlet"

Hamlet is a tale of love and deception
But many would say written far from perfection
Though it addresses the issue of humanity
Ophelia herself is driven to insanity
The king was killed by his backstabbing brother
Who married his wife and debased Hamlet's mother
The people are sheep with blind loyalty
Consuming the lies of false royalty
Polonius gets caught between the wall and a sharp place
Laertes returns to avenge with great haste
While Rosencrantz and Guildenstern sail to their deaths
Hamlet emerges with revenge on his breasts
The beautiful Ophelia flows like the river
With flowers so free, and a message to deliver
A challenge is called to reconcile two noble men
Who rage about from every kingdom's end
The final day has come for Denmark's royal family
When Gertrude is poisoned by her husband's own treachery
Laertes and Hamlet pricked by each other's swords
And Claudius finally meets the King of all lords.

"My Darling Biscuit"

The sunshine rolls off your skin
Like butter onto a biscuit
Baked to perfection
Voluptuous and tantalizing

Every curve exact
No air pockets to air out
Completely full
Of the finest dough

Your lips glazed with precious
Strawberry marmalade
Waiting to be tasted
And cherished each second

But my love
The muffin by your side
Can not taste you
For he is only focused on his own sweetness.

"Lost at Home Within His Holiness"

Has God forsaken my brokenness?
Am I another expendable believer for the cause?
Lost at home within His holiness.
Tainted by his blessing's disappointments.

Life has caused more pain than worth bearing.
But is it worth the struggle to perfect the imperfect?
Will I ever be good enough for my creator to love?
Will I ever be worth the watch of my mother's God?

Confusion is massaged deeply into the roots of thought.
Everyday loneliness becomes more and more aggressive.
Comfort is so distant to memory that I lose myself looking for it.
And yet through it all I don't feel Him

His gospel says “He will never forsake you”,
Yet, I feel so tightly entwined in abandonment.
I expected the phone calls to stop,
I even expected to lose some friends in the process

But I never expected to lose my God.
I never expected to be alone in this unforgiving world.
I lost my mother, I lost my father, I lost my sister,
I lost myself and I lost my sense of Love.

Is it worth believing, if I keep losing?
